hi guys.my little trailer is a flat bed.no sides.thinking of put my engine on it.but is wot I would like to know is as it you can see the car lights eather side of it
do I need lights on the trailer as well or just a number plate.

Yes you do Dave easiest and a cheap way just use a trailer board.

well dave its law if you're towing a trailer mate , not a hard or expensive job either well if you know how .

Some cars it's easier to buy the specific loom that just plugs in, especially if it is intelligent and knows when it has a bulb fault.

The one car we had it use to sound like a strangled cat when the indicators on the trailer were on and braking

Was that jus the buzzer or something wrong with it? You can get bypass relays for modern vehicles I did mine without any problems.

Sounds like a short circuit on the trailer lights somewhere. Bet you are one of the many that has all lights flashing when the indicator is on and the brakes are applied...

You'd need to do that for the MOT anyway, unless you plan to take the hook off at MOT time.

It turned out to be dodgy wiring on the car we just use to fiddle with the connector plug till it worked somewhere near right
