RAD WELD lister d

Post by gerrybongo on Tue Sep 09 2014, 22:02

I have just read about the use of rad-weld in a lister d , chap was saying that water was getting into the oil sump so was adding rad-weld as a cure , is there any weird reason to do this and would it work .

if your getting water into the oil its either head gasket gone or a crack in the cylinder wall or in the jacket somewhere, in which case it is probably easier to find a replacement block or head...

and I second the matth92 comment, also rad weld is designed for pressurized cooling systems to stuff it into the gaps.
