Having nearly finished the Bamfords EG1 (just waiting for a new fuel tap to arrive) I needed a new project to keep me busy. This arrived on Saturday:

Looks to be complete! Does it turn over?

Boys and their toys!
Looks a good project to keep you off the streets, is it straightforward?

Yes, but the exhaust valve is stuck. Carb is broken too, but that's getting sorted in a few weeks.
Mag has a good spark, fuel pump works, no holes in petrol tank.
Had a quick investigate inside, doesn't appear to be any excess play in the big end.
Happy with it so far.

This is going to be lots of fun for you.
What's your plan for it.

Get it running!

Got the governor side flywheel off this morning, had to make an attachment for my slide hammer to get the gib key out.
The governor arm was quite tight, so the main bearing housing had to come off so I could drift the taper pin out. The sliding sleeve was stuck as well.
Pleased to find virtually no wear to the main bearing!
Unfortunately the same can't be said for the governor quadrant:

Think I might just turn it round, not sure what the drilled recesses are for (to retain oil?) but there aren't any on the other side. I guess for the amount of time it'll be running it won't hurt as long as it gets regular oiling.
