Idiots with MIG welders
I've recently become the owner of a Kohler genset. It's runs very sweetly but I was at a loss to find a dipstick. Finding pictures of where it should be I searched and found that somebody had welded it up! It occurred to me that there was a dipstick on both ends of the welder. After some time and a couple of cobalt drills I managed to extract it from the hole, luckily the welder was useless so the actual hole was unmarked and the dipstick was still in the sump! A couple of hours later and I had a new dipstick and all is well. They really should keep people away from MIG welders.

Re: Idiots with MIG welders
Does this mean I have to resign my position as a mod on a mig welding forum?

Re: Idiots with MIG welders
Robostar5 if you can teach a few of them to do it properly I'm with you all the way. I used to be in the motor trade and have lost count of the number of "repairs" that you could knock off with a tap from a hammer.

The hammer is the universal tool of the trade, if all fails give it a good clout and hope for the best.
