Is that a plastic cork ? Have you tested how it behaves in petrol ?

It is made from bamboo, I don't know yet how it will behave but if it's not a success I have plenty of natural corks to replace it with

After taking the time and trouble to make new petrol tap corks I found a man selling new ones for 30P each today at the Newark autojumble, ah well such is life

Re: My first restoration project a Douglas SV54
The Douglas is now quite a heavy lump so I thought a trolley would be a good idea to make it easier to move around, (I am a bit of a wood butcher so give me a lump of metal anytime)
The steering is made from a 4" disc of marine quality brass, greased and sandwiched between 2 discs if mild steel and is quite stable and steers well.
