Very hard to put a price on an engine ..from a distance ..so to speak. Lots of things all contribute to the deal or at least it does with me some being.. the main reason..how much do want the engine and how much money do you have at the time, it is easy to buy a £200 engine when you have £500 in your hip and all other relevant amounts these are just for the use of.

A villiers WX11 on a stall at a rally for sale by someone I did not know, the engine sitting running away with all its bits and I wanted one no more than £180 LESS IF YOU CAN GET IT.

that sounds about right to me also
but watch out for the electrics on them around £100+ with your old nackered coil returned to them
as they are no longer available none genuine copys you have to get a magneto/coil specialist to make you one up to order
as i found out with my 2 wx11s

I bought a coil for one about a year ago from Villiers spares along with a new condensor it was around the £100 like Kev says.

Not sure were you are buying your coils but they are available for about £20 to £40 depending on were you go. Yes they need a small offset steel collar on each end but they will fit and work. I have done at least three Villiers mags this way, they are one off the easiest to work on.

Hi Bamfordlad, I do know of the cheaper coils requiring collars but are they not old stock? that has been on a shelf for years.

Bill.

they stopped making that modifacation coil last year and the ones how still have them in stock are asking around £65 plus vat plus postage
and the collars are around £30 mark also now.
beging of last year delivered to the door £23 .64 each brand new from china/tiwan
which is a pain for me as they are from mk20- 25 and i only have one new coil left in stock and they need 2 per engine Sad
