gascoignes engine base
Hello just wondering if anyone new anything about gascoignes of reading. I have an engine base with the name stamped in. I think they made mobile milking machines and the base I have is for a motor and vacuum pump but in not sure. Any info would be great.

Gascoignes (later Gascoigne, Gush and Dent) were manufacturers of dairy equipment and also invented the KleeKlamp system of assembling tubing. They were based on Berkeley Avenue in Reading, part of the A4 trunk road, and I worked a few hundred yards from the factory. I have a lot of their stuff, including a baseplate similar to your one and a Crossley/ Gascoigne vacuum pump from 1932.. The pics show my Lister powered set and an electric driven one which isnt mine!

That's great, like your setup. Its always good to get confirmation of what you think.
so I just need the vacuum pump to go with my lister D and base plate, we could have a matching pair my D looks a similar year to yours with the round breather on top.
