Re: armstrong siddeley engine
you will get lots of help off the chaps on here if you decide to go for it - the question I would be asking is why has the head been removed and not re-assembled.

Re: armstrong siddeley engine
There's not much to these really, they are very similar to other small(ish) air cooled diesel engines.
What kind of information was it you were looking for?
If you wanted to rebuild this engine then we will help you. You'll probably need some new rings & the injector system serviced or at least looked at. But you never know, you might get it all together & it'll fire straight up. It could be in the middle of being taken to bits, or being put back together, we just don't know.
It looks very similar to the Coventry Victor diesels, but most of these engine makers bought in the injector equipment from other companies, such as CAV, so parts can be found.
Take some pictures of your engine, if you have a Photobucket account then you can post them, if not you'll have to wait until your membership is 7 days old. If you have trouble posting pics then get in touch with me or one of the admins, you can email them over & one of us can post them up for you.
So what's your intentions with this engine then? What would you like to achieve with it? Maybe take on the hobby, or just get it running & see what happens?

I wonder how many guys on here are from Ireland be good to find out and maybe help each other out! I will take pics and put them up!

Re: armstrong siddeley engine
Go for it I say. Make sure you take lots of pictures as you disassemble it, so you'll know how it goes back together. & don't worry about posting too many pics on here, we love them, the more the merrier. We can help identify parts for you as well.
You can always use the private messaging service on the forum as well, I'm happy to help out wherever I can & I'm sure others will as well.
Bit of a shame though, you're too far for me to help out in person.
