Petter Junior reassembly
In 1970 I was given a Petter Engine to rebuild, I stripped it down but never got round to putting it back togeather. Over the years it has suffered from bad storage but is mostly all there. The engine is sn 1187 1922 with magneto on the front. I really need an exploded view to show all the parts and how they go togeather.

Re: Petter Junior reassembly
What you have sounds like a series 1 Petter M 1 1/2hp? If so very nice, an engine that is on my "want" list! They are not very common as they weren't a commercial success.
I doubt you will find an exploded view of one and I don't think there is one of the series 2, not that it would help.
Here is one I grew up knowing.

Re: Petter Junior reassembly
First question which way does the piston go? We loosly assembled the bottom end with the notched side towards the spark plug but looking at a not very clear picture we think that is wrong.
A second question is about the hole in the side of the crank bearing support into the crank case it was plugged with a grease stuffing cup. Is this to pressure the lube oil feed, ours seems to be gravity fed from a small tank.
Also we assume the felt crank seals just sit sandwiched on the outside of the bearing.

Re: Petter Junior reassembly
Piston goes slope to the exhaust if I remember right. if it has greased mains then it will have greased mains with a greaser in it and the oiler will drop oil into the crankcase somewhere. Put a photo up of your main bearing housing and oiler, that would help. And as far as I know the greased bearing M didn't have a felt seal.
