Gasket......or not? Empty Gasket......or not?

Post by ajcooper4 Thu Mar 11 2021, 17:23

I recently removed the oil filler of my Lister D to make it easier to remove paint on the cylinder block and on the filler piece itself. When I removed it I was very surprised to discover there was no gasket. There doesn't appear to be one in the new set I bought from Stationary Engine Parts either.

Any thoughts please?

Thank you.

I don't think they had gaskets originally - easy enough to make one though. There's no gasket on mine and it doesn't seem to leak when running.
