Lister Engine - Any Advice? Empty Lister Engine - Any Advice?

Hello All,

I’m looking for some advice/assistance with a Lister engine which hasn’t run for about 30 years. I’m new to this forum and have just posted on the New Members section explaining a bit of the background to this project, so if you’re interested please have a read of that. Here are some pics of the engine -

In its heyday, this generator (aka “Horace Willy”) was the sole source of power for the house and then latterly was kept functioning as a standby in case of power cuts. If any of you could give me some advice on the do’s and don’t’S of getting him up and running again I’d be very grateful and if you could point me in the direction of someone in my area (Inverness, Scotland) who could come and assist me that would be fantastic.

Cheers

John Mac

Hi John (Mac ?)

A bit more info would maybe prompt some replies.
Does it turn over ?
Does it have compression ?
Does it have a spark ?
