Jap 2a reverse rotation

Hi All
Just got a jap 2a reverse rotation. Which way does the flywheel nut come undone looks
like some one tried undoing it anti clockwise. Would it be ok to put a lump of wood between
piston and cylinder head to prevent it from turning over.

The nut is a standard right hand thread so anti-clockwise removal is the correct way. I would remove the bottom plate and wedge some wood between the crankcase and crankshaft, less chance of damaging anything then.

That worked a treat thank you for the tip.
Next one now do get them little split pins out of the big nuts.
Other than that going well so far.

Hi All
This one going really slowly but getting there.
Next one is now do you get that main bearing out tried heat no joy there
can't tap it out from the other side. There has to be a way just can't see now.
