Re: Anzani motor hoe
Anzani Motor Hoes are not as common as their big brother the Iron Horse, 1950's is about right. The JAP engine should be a 2A and if you can find some letters around the base you should be able to at least date the engine. I have never seen wheels like that on a garden cultivator before, only on a full size tractor (l have some on my Case). Usually the steel wheels have a double rim with cleats accross.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a check on the engine for any numbers in the next day or so. Also I'd guess the wheels are original as they have anzani on them which was the only way I could identify the machine.

Hello and welcome!
That looks like a great little project. I would suggest joining the Vintage Horticultural and Garden Machinery Club (or at least the forum): https://vhgmc.co.uk/

Thanks, I'll have a look at that club/forum as it came in a job lot comprising of a hayterette 5hp mower, this Anzani and a Colwood motor hoe. I normally "play" with fire pumps but these are a bit of a change and not so heavy.

I've looked at the VHGMC before, is it possible to register on the forum without becoming a paid member?.

Looks like a Villiers Midget MK2.
I have a pdf of the operating instructions and spare parts list, PM me your email address if you would like a copy.

It's on stop for now as the midget engine's piston was solid in the barrel, I'll keep my eye out for the correct type of engine I think but in the meantime need to get my generator sorted.
