Hello mate , years ago I had the same question about a Lister D , my old dad simply said " in the absence of other instructions , rough side up " so I would go for the right handed image . Dad had kept 2 now very vintage paraffin Fordsons going , one after the other , without parts or fitter / factory knowledge , right through WW2 . Both now gone , but to cover myself I,m saying caveat emptor .
