villiers E30 4 stroke year 1964
well it under the shed and been getting stuck into tarting it up
heres the pics of work so far
fuel tank/ culinder before solder repairs and filling in the rest of the pitts and dents and the holes were all on the top of tank only
the dark blue top coat on the repaired tank
scrapped silvers blues and all colours of spray off the cowlings ,back to just a fin remains of the oxide coat just waiting for a dry day to sand back to good tin and panel beat the biggest of the dents and waves ,then fill the remaining in
the part number and ajh makers year stamp 1964
the original blue under all the crap and id plate
primmed and ready for top coats later
block masked up and now primmed ready for the topcoat when the paint arrives
the new fuel pipe i made the other night
and the mag is now back together and belting out a cracking spark
the paint is left on at this time until the other paint arrives for colour comparison as its on the hidden side of the mag
the original date for the magneto is 7/1967 ,so it looks like i was i storage for some time before the mag was fitted for shipping out of birmingham to customer or agents
and the starting shaft before stripping back ,its ready fot the primmer now, and then see what colour i pick when rebuilding the parts again

Re: villiers E30 4 stroke year 1964
my little just turned 3 yrs old forman, picked the colour off the shelf , shoock the can,got a flathead screw driver of the tool board, opened it ,got a brush out the shed draw ,mine is out of her vision level ontop of head lol ,bless, and painted all the sump off her own back ,and no paint on her cloths, thank god, thats what happens when dadda dont shut the child gate correctly, but very impresses with her learned from dadda skills and what goes were in my shed knowlodge, it was going to be empire blue not battle grey, but seeing as she started it that colour ,after i finished my tea i did all the rest, all the panels are also hanging and drying will take some more pics tommorow of my skills just look at that stright line ,and she did it all the way around ,up to the sump gasket "flipping auwsome
but for now leave it at my eldests tallents
little to deep with the brush in paint "must point this out to her in the future lol

What paint do you use Kev you always seem to have a high class finish. Either its the paint or your daughters painting

Re: villiers E30 4 stroke year 1964
the air filter is now finished other than a wing nut ,
remade the guvernor to carb linkage as was a few mm out ,to long "close but no cigar
made the throttle idioling lever out of brass ,just to add to the contrasts
had it running and i near poo"ed my pants as turned the fuel tap on ,pulled the choke lever out ,first pull and away it went
little slow weap from the brass union on carb from fuel pipe ,so added a fibre washer to see if that stops it
running a little rich but will be seeing to that as have a service kit for the zenith 24t2 series carb if needed
and made a stainless airfilter mounting bracket just to minimis the oilbaths shacking slipping around in use and spilling the oil out
so this it how it going to look as its all there and painted ,anything else i just tinkering for a smoother slower running engine
