Can anyone ID the engine?

Post by Woodsman on Wed Sep 09 2015, 08:12

Got this tank in a job lot.
Does anyone know what engine it came off? The cap incorporates a measuring cup and the legend reads ' Pour (?) measures of Castrol XL oil to one gallon of petrol'  Also 'Shake well'. Not sure how you would do that with the the tank bolted to an engine - presumably two-stroke.

Yup, I think you are right.
Should have known as we used to have an Allen scythe but sold it on.

Yes, definitely an Oxford Allen Scythe tank.
