Norton villiers f15. Any info at all please?
Hi everyone
I have just bought a woseley merry tiller and it’s fitted with a norton villiers f15 engine.
That’s not a factory fitted engine, there were lots of engines fitted to these over the years but not villiers.
I know absolutely nothing about this engine and wondered if anyone could shed any light on it.
Is it a motorcycle engine originally?
What hp is it?
What engine oil to use?
What’s the ignition system?
Are they decent engines? Etc etc cheers.

Hi Dan,
Plenty of Villiers owners on the forum. Check Steef Pronk's (Mark15 user) thread for a blow by blow account of Villiers MK15 restoration.

To answer your initial questions.
Nope. Stationary engine
1.95 BHP @ 2,800 rpm
SAE 30 is a good choice - cheap at Screwfix.
Villiers flywheel magneto
Great little engines, IMHO, especially for those of us without access to a machine shop and with limited funds.
PM me with email address when you are able (usually about 7 days) if you would like a copy of the manual.
