While this is indeed a Solex 26FH carburettor, it will not fit a Bamford EV/EG engine as per OPs request.

The Solex 26FH carburettor comes in both left and right handed versions. So the float bowl can be either on the left hand side or the right hand side. The Bamford EV1/EG1 uses the version with the float bowl on the left hand side (type 26FHG where G=gauche, French for left)) otherwise the float bowl will foul the exhaust outlet on the engine.

On the other hand the Fowler 1PAL uses the version with the float bowl on the right (type 26FHD where d=Droit, French for right). The Solex 26FHD carb version will not fit the Bamford.

The left and right handed versions are not interchangeable, hence my original comment above.

The float bowl, throttle tube and choke arrangements will fit both models, it is only the centre part that is handed.

In addition, the throttle tube (the piece with the flange) can be rotated to 4 different positions giving great versatility in governor linkage positions.
