Re: Villiers midget?
Have you repaired the crack in the cases with aluminium solder if you have the heat may have moved the bearing line up for the crankshaft, i would think with a crack like it has it would already be out of line prior to using heat to make a repair, because the crankcase is is a fuel mixer on this 2 stroke it is very important that the cases are gas tight .

Chiefy.

Re: Villiers midget?
Hi Chiefy,
Thanks for your reply.
I have repaired the crack using aluminium solder and am quite pleased with that. I have slowly (to slowly!) come round to thinking that that half of the crank case when it was damaged was pushed out of line and so will need replacing.I am now looking for a midget mk1 crank case - I have seen several but none the same as mine.
Kev.

Re: Villiers midget?
Hi Locknut,
I have used the aluminium solder myself and it does a good job and i think you are correct in thinking the cracked crankcase means the bearings are out of alignment, hope you have good luck and are able to find a pair of replacement crankcases, ithink a pair is best.
Best Regards,
Keith.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
You will probably have more luck posting in the 'wanted' section than tagging on to a 5 year old thread...
Also not a good idea to put personal contact details on an open forum, sadly there are scammers about.
Good luck!
