Fairbanks Morse Typhoon pump

I have just acquired a Fairbanks Morse "Typhoon" pump that I hope to team up with a 1942 Lister D
The pump has an old repair to the suction side that I intend to leave as it is part of it's history and is a proper old school fix.
I have got it stripped and found no major problems apart from the usual valve seals and springs.
Does anybody have any information on these pumps regarding dating and spares ?

For aficionados of the outdoor privy, I can highly recommend 'The Specialist'  by Charles Sale - short but entertaining IMHO.
I had a copy, but lent it to a friend who went off to work at GCHQ and was never seen again.

Sorry to hear of the disappearance of your friend.

All stripped except the gland packing and cross head.  Valve discs and springs are all shot as expected but the valve faces look good.
Looks like I am going to have to drill out all the drain plugs and re-tap and replace with drain cocks (probably the reason for the casing repair) more about that later.

Had a close look at the repair to the main body. It's a crack in the casing in the suction inlet chamber so it's LP and doesn't require welding.
I intend to leave it as it is, as it's part of it's history and shows an old school repair, nobody would have taken the time and trouble these days to drill and form around all those contours.

Managed to get all of the drain plugs out in one piece, but will need to clean out the threads and replace the plugs with brass cocks, to hopefully prevent another repair caused by freezing.

Note that these plugs will be American National Pipe Thread and not British Standard Pipe thread (BSP).

Thanks Blue Cat I worked 35 years with mostly American oilfield gear so I expected that one. I knew them taps and dies would come in handy someday !
